Day 1 – Hervey Bay to Noosa

Overview > Day 1 to Noosa > Day 2 to Gold Coast > Day 3 to Coffs >
Day 4 in Coffs > Day 5 to Port > Day 6 to Kiama

Driving conditions:
We travelled at the designated speed limit – mostly 110 kmh on the highway –
using Cruise Control (no re-gen) and with the Air Conditioning on all the way!

With less than 200 km to travel from Harvey Bay to this afternoon’s destination in Noosa, and with 400 km range indicated on the MG’s range estimator, this first leg of our trip shouldn’t be a problem.

We are staying in a caravan park cabin in Noosa, and as a bonus we discover that the cabin has a 240V outlet available in the car parking area adjacent to the cabin. And we just happen to have a heavy duty extension lead in the boot. After returning from dinner at the Noosa Heads Surf Club (recommended!) we have 254 km of remaining range, the battery is at 51% charge.

Noosa - connected to cabin power

We plugged the granny charge in for a very slow 10 hour boost, increasing the battery charge from 51% to 72%, and extending the estimated range to 325 km. (Time: 10 hours @ 2 Kw. Cost: $0.00)
